  • Halls Jr. High School 8th grade students in Mr. John Terry’s homeroom class decided to give Christmas presents to Ms. Tracie Taylor’s class as their F.O.C.U.S. community service project.  F.O.C.U.S. (Finding Opportunities for Careers and Understanding Self) is a local initiative for Lauderdale County middle and high school students. The goal of F.O.C.U.S. is to prepare all students with the knowledge, skills, and habits to successfully pursue the career path of their choice. The culture of the school communicates what is valued. F.O.C.U.S. was created to establish a culture in Lauderdale County Schools showing we value postsecondary enrollment, as well as a shared belief that all adults will work together to prepare students for their path of choice after graduation. Preparing students for their future is not only about their careers, but also how they will interact in their communities and contribute as adults. Through F.O.C.U.S., we hope to instill a desire to give back to the community through service projects and good deeds.  Lauderdale County F.O.C.U.S. students continue to show our community that we can all be a part of something meaningful by reaching out to others through acts of service.
